The American born supermodel Debra Shaw studied Fashion Design in High School before becoming a model. Her star began to rise with shows for Paco Rabanne and Christian Dior, there she met John Galliano, she became his muse and worked with him for years.
During her career she worked for designers such as Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, Thierry Mugler, Valentino, Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.
The photographers loved her alien beauty: Annie Leibowitz, Peter Lindbergh, Mario Testino, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Nick Knight, Ellen Von Unwerth are just a few of them to name who regularly booked her for editorials (Vogue, Numero, Citizen K, Elle, Dazed and Confused, Marie Claire, Spoon etc.) and campaigns (Versace, Alexander McQueen, Valentino etc).
Today Debra is a fashion consultant. She will be on the upcoming TV segment, “The Model Scouts” on RTE TV/ Ireland.
She is illustrated on the Gilbrator postage stamp (limited edition) in Christian Dior designed by John Galliano and even has a Barbie doll made in her image.
